The Purchase Commander purchasing platform was initially developed for the hospitality industry by a leading California software developer. We fully recognized that this web-based, robust purchasing management system could provide healthcare facilities with immediate savings in operations and provide substantial benefits in purchasing budgeting and control, rebate management and via EDI interface, provide a streamlined answer to everyday purchasing challenges. With the help of the developer, we have optimized the purchasing platform for the unique and complex needs of healthcare facilities.
We're excited to bring Purchase Commander to the healthcare industry, building on the successful implementation on the software in over 700 facilities nationwide. Purchase Commander is led by highly experienced healthcare veterans, Ted Matson and Alex Scott. Ted Matson
Ted has spent 32 years in healthcare, working clinically in seven different hospital settings, ranging from a small, rural hospital to one of the largest teaching hospitals in the U.S. He has provided strategic and operational consulting for over 20 years, assisting over 400 hospitals and healthcare organizations. Previously, he served as an executive with the American Hospital Association (AHA), Chicago. Ted is also the founder of two healthcare start-up companies and has published seven healthcare management texts. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa Graduate Program in Hospital and Health Administration and a Fellow, American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
Alex Scott
Alex has spent 15 years in healthcare management with The Baptist Medical Centers in Birmingham, AL, Bishop Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, NE and The Carolinas Healthcare System in Charlotte, NC. During his 20 year consulting career he was the CEO of Growth Activation Inc. in Atlanta, GA and a Principal with the consulting division of FreemanWhite, Inc. in Charlotte, NC. Alex graduated from Clemson University in 1966 and received an MHA from Georgia State University in 1970.
